My Ph.D. in Philosophy with a Certificate in Cognitive Science is from Rutgers University. I joined the faculty at San Francisco State University in the summer of 2009 and am currently a Professor of Philosophy. My research focuses on the intersection between philosophy of mind, epistemology, and cognitive science. For an overview of my research, here is my interview with Richard Marshall at minute 3:16. Among recent activities, I am a faculty member of the Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute 2021.
My book "Minding Time: A Philosophical and Theoretical Approach to the Psychology of Time" offers an account of time perception that takes into consideration scientific findings on the psychological mechanisms of timing and windows of simultaneity. It also argues that the perception of time is analogical. NDPR Review. Brilliant site.
I co-wrote a book, with H. H. Haladjian, on consciousness and attention, with MIT Press: Consciousness, Attention, and Conscious Attention; This is a review of the book at NDPR.
I co-authored a book, with Abrol Fairweather, on the nature of epistemic agency, epistemic abilities, and attention, with Cambridge University Press. Here is a review of: Knowledge, Skill, and Attention.
Synthese has recently published a volume co-edited with Acacio de Barros on issues in quantum mechanics and philosophy of mind. It includes a foreword by Roger Penrose: Quanta and Mind.
